Each afternoon at 1:30 pm\, our Zoo Keepers will host keeper talks and—when butterflies are ready—tag and release Monarchs into the wild. \nBecause butterflies emerge from their cocoons on their own unpredictable schedule\, tagging and releases will happen daily only if butterflies are ready. Guests may even catch a glimpse of one of our newly released butterflies fluttering around before she begins her long migration to Mexico! \nThroughout the day\, guests can: \nLearn how to help Monarchs and pollinators through planting butterfly-friendly gardens 🌼 \nExplore educational displays in the barn\, including microscopes and butterfly wings up close 🔬 \nEnjoy butterfly coloring pages and fun family activities 🎨 \nThese butterflies are part of the “super generation”—a special group that makes the incredible journey all the way to Mexico for the winter. Come be part of their story and learn how you can support conservation at home.
